Regent Voyager Heads to Dubai to Fix Pod

Yesterday the Regent Seven Seas Voyager was in Cochin, India, where engineers inspected the damage done to the Dolphin propulsion pod that snagged a fishing net several days ago.

The incident has caused kinks in the World Cruise itinerary. Since the damage couldn't be fixed in Cochin, the next two stops—Mumbia and Abu Dhabi—have been canceled. Voyager will sail on to Dubai, where the pod problem can be fixed before the next segment of the World Cruise embarks on April 1.

Cruisers are said to be in good spirits, despite the change in schedule. Regent is working on a compensation package for those affected on this itinerary.

Please post more on Regent Voyager segment leaving Dubai April 1

I know cruisers on the April 1 segment of the Voyager's World Cruise are anxious to hear additional details about the pod fix. Unfortunately, there probably won't be any news until March 31 or early April 1.

Voyager will probably reach Dubai on the morning of the 31st and repairs will begin immediately. Techs will make these repairs in the water and there are no plans for dry dock.

Of course, anything can happen. But, at this time, Regent is hopeful that the problem can be fixed quickly and the April 1 segment will sail as schedule.

I'll post more data as it becomes available.

I completely understand your concern. I wish I had more information to provide before your plane takes off! However, I can tell you that in similar circumstances Regent has done everything possible to make pod fixes quickly and efficiently in order to get the schedule back on track.

I hope your cruise departs as close to schedule as possible! Safe travels and I'd love to hear from you during the cruise or upon your return.

Thank you for your kind reports. Hope the problem can be fixed. We know these things happen but we hate to be half way round the world and have to fly back.. Not getting any further news from Regent.
